Vintage Connections Skirt

This easy-to-wear skirt features a stylish longer length, gentle hip increases and a flattering, wide waistband with side buttons. A flirty ruffle edging gives it added feminine charm.

GAUGE

PATTERN NOTES
Skirt is intended to sit on high hip or low waist area and will stretch a little. Skirt Waistband is worked in rows, making overlap and opening. Main Skirt is worked in rounds using incrementally increasing hook sizes to achieve increases.
Chain-2 at beginning of row or round counts as first half double crochet unless otherwise stated.
Chain-3 at beginning of round counts as first double crochet unless otherwise stated.
Join rounds with slip stitch as indicated unless otherwise stated.
SPECIAL STITCHES
Beginning linked treble crochet (beg linked tr): Ch 3, pull up lp in 2nd and 3rd chs from hook, pull up lp in first st (4 lps on hook), [yo, pull through 2 lps] 3 times.
Linked treble crochet (linked tr): Pull up lp in each horizontal bar (see illustration) of previous linked tr (2 bars) and in next st (4 lps on hook), [yo, pull through 2 lps] 3 times.

Rnd 1: With size G hook, ch 1, sc in first st, sk next st, shell (see Special Stitches) in next st, sk next st, [sc in next st, sk next st, shell in next st, sk next st] around, join (see Pattern Notes) in first sc, turn. (42 [46, 50, 56, 61, 65, 70] shells, 42 [46, 50, 56, 61, 65, 70] sc)
Rnd 2: Sl st across to dc of first shell, ch 1, sc in same st as beg ch-1, shell in next sc, [sc in dcof next shell, shell in next sc] around, join in beg sc.
Rnd 3: Ch 2, (dc, hdc) in same st as beg ch-2 (counts as first shell), sc in dc of next shell, [shell in next sc, sc in dcof next shell] around, join in top of beg ch-2.

Waistband Edging
With RS facing and size F hook, join in any st, evenly sp sl st around waist edge, overlap and side opening, join in first sl st. Fasten off.
FINISHING
Block to measurements if necessary. Sew buttons to correspond with overlap and buttonholes on waistband.
Sew 2 hooks and eyes to inside of hip opening and 1 at beg of overlap.
